About the game
How Block Blast works.
A board-space puzzle about fitting three available shapes without closing the lanes you will need later.
Block Blast is a turn-based board puzzle built around placing one of three available shapes on a fixed grid. Completing a horizontal or vertical line clears it, but the stronger move is often the one that preserves a wide open lane for the pieces you have not placed yet.
There is no move timer, so every turn can be treated as a spatial planning problem. Corners, one-cell gaps, and narrow pockets become expensive because future shapes may stop fitting even while the board still looks open.

How to play Block Blast
Three actions to understand before the first run.
- 01
Drag one of the available block shapes with the mouse or your finger onto an open part of the board.
- 02
Complete a full horizontal or vertical line to clear it and recover space.
- 03
The run ends when the remaining shapes no longer fit anywhere.
Board reading
What separates a safe move from a tempting one.
One placement can finish a row and a column together, converting a crowded center into usable space.
A move can score now and still be harmful if it leaves only narrow pockets for the next set.
Strategy notes
Build a better second run.
Use these observations after you have felt the controls once.
Pixel Flow rewards keeping a tray slot open; Block Blast rewards keeping at least one broad lane available.
The best move is usually the placement that opens the most future options, not the one that removes the nearest line.
Block Blast has no conveyor timing or color targeting. Every decision is about geometry, so you can pause and compare the long-term footprint of each shape.
Before each placement, identify one row and one column that the same block could complete. Try to create a cross-clear without sealing the center.
Finally realized I was losing because I kept filling the center first. Leaving a 3-wide lane open made the next set way less brutal.
The L pieces are the run killers for me. I check those first now, then drop the square only if it does not break the lane.
Good quick version. It loaded fine on my phone, but fullscreen helps because dragging near the bottom can feel cramped.
When the board gets messy, I stop chasing one-line clears and try to make a row and column one move away at the same time.
Small tip: do not park single blocks in corners unless they finish a line. They make the 5-piece shapes almost impossible later.
